A Visit to Elizabeth Bay House

My friend Caroline and I often meet up for random adventures around Sydney.  This time, we decided to head to 7 Onslow Avenue for a tour around the historic Elizabeth Bay House.  For just $8 (AUD), we got a first-hand peek into the former life of Alexander Macleay and his exquisite family home which featured beautiful views overlooking the harbour and even included a library and wine cellars.  My favourite was the Drawing Room, located on the first floor which they say served as a “reception room to which guests retired after dinner.”  If only one could afford to live so luxuriously–the room was the size of my entire flat!  Anyway, it was a lovely visit and I was happy to learn a bit of the history behind this grand estate.
