The ground floor of the Customs House is probably one of my favourite places to chill in Sydney.  It’s open till late every day for people to catch up on the news, offering a range of international newspapers and magazines, and of course lots of comfy couches and chairs to make you feel right at home.  They have free wireless internet too.  And one of the coolest things is the giant City Model which sits just beneath the glass floor in the main lobby.  Well, it’s cool to me anyway, but what do I know.  I’m still pretty new here.  Anyway, you can find the Customs House near Circular Quay, just across from the train stations, bus stops, and ferries.  Like many places in the city, there’s great cafes nearby so you can grab a coffee, find a free spot on the couch and kick back with your newspaper or laptop for a relaxing morning, afternoon, or evening.
