Last Thursday

I headed to the city to meet up with my dear friend Patricia (better known as “Chez”).  We decided to pretend we were tourists for the day, soaking in the breathtaking views of Circular Quay and enjoying a tasty lunch at the Opera Bar before booking ourselves in for a backstage tour of the Sydney Opera House.  The tour was most fascinating and thoroughly educating–something I would not hesitate to do again if the opportunity presented itself.  The remainder of our afternoon called for a breezy stroll through the laneways down George Street, some unnecessary (but very necessary) jewelry shopping, a brief perusing of the shelves and stationery selection in Kinokinuya, and finally, afternoon tea–for what sort of ladies would we be if we declined an opportunity to exchange thought-provoking ideas over cups of tea and cake?
